Violations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs - "Transparency International Georgia" and EMC jointly conduct research. The report focuses on the statistics published by the agency from 2015 up to now regarding the unauthorized access to personal data base and the selection process of personnel.
The civil sector draws attention to the violations revealed in these directions.
"Production of statistics by the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not based on a single consolidated document and there is no legislative basis for producing statistics. As for the personal data, although not one reform has been implemented in this regard, one of the main challenges is to prevent unauthorized access to databases, "said Mariam Mkhatvari, a lawyer for the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center.
The emphasis is made on the minister`s extensive powers. The details of the research will be known at today"s briefing.
