The Public Defender of Georgia has responded to the initiative of the High Council of Justice, which imposes certain sanctions for the abuse of judges.

Ucha Nanuashvili calls the initiative not serious. According to the Ombudsman, there are already similar regulations in the legislation and judges can use them.

The ombudsman says that freedom of expression should be protected in the country. Accordingly,as Ucha Nanuashvili states, the Public Defender`s Office will not support this initiative.
