Support for Euro-Atlantic course is consistently high in Georgia- NDI

The first part of the public opinion poll conducted by the National Democratic Institute has been publicized. NDI surveyed about 2 500 people in Georgia. The survey was conducted in April.

According to the survey, 80% of the respondents are in favor of joining the EU, while 12%are against it.

According to the Director of the NDI Office of Georgia, the support of the Euro-Atlantic course in Georgia is higher than in the EU countries.

Opponents of the European Union have three main arguments, 43% name threat of the conflict with Russia, 24% name threat of identity, and 18% believe that it will never happen.

63% of interviewees name o Russia"s military aggression as the main threat.

The poll will be published on Monday. At this time will be announced Georgian population"s attitude toward political leaders and parties
