Deacon Giorgi Mamaladze`s attorneys appeal to the Prosecutor`s Office for defamation. According to the attorneys, the allegations of the Patriarchate`s lawyer that Mamaladze was planning to launder 50 million euros is absurd.

According to the defense, Giorgi Mamaladze did not commit illegal action and this sum was needed for the projects that Shorena Tetruashvili herself and some of the clergy were informed about.

"The project was to rehabilitate the clinic and build a school in Chakvi. This project is in the computer that is now in the Prosecutor`s Office. It is very easy to verify this. Consequently, there was no unlawful action here, moreover, Shorena Tetruashvili and several others knew about it. As for this company, he has not worked for one day in
the company and he did not have a one-lari turnover, but the Patriarchate periodically gets orders from Prosecutor"s Office in order to overshadow the topic, "-said  attorney Giorgi Pantsulaia.

The questions about the issue has the Patriarchate`s lawyer himself, specifically why the Patriarch was not aware of this issue.
