The continuation of the so called scandalous cyanide case - the addressee of the Patriarch`s Lawyer is Metropolitan Petre of Chkondidy, Edisher Karchava does not speak about details, but says that he was actively participating in the dismissal of the Patriarch and Ilia II was informed about it. According to Edisher Karchava, the Metropolitan has his own grouping and he is trying to abolish the Patriarchate in Georgia in different ways.

The Patriarch`s lawyer also said that Metropolitan Petre was also assisted by the Archpriest detained on the cyanide case. According to Karchava, his statements are agreed with the Patriarch.

The Metropolitan of Chkondondi is convinced that the defamatory statements against him relate to the scandalous cyanide case because he was the only hierarch of the who defended Giorgi Mamaladze`s interests in public.

According to the lawyers of the archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, the allegations of the Patriarch`s Lawyer are absurd. According to the defense, several months ago, during the meeting with the Patriarch, Ilia II thought that Father Giorgi was innocent.

Karchava also demands explanations from the Prosecutor`s Office, which he accuses of protecting a particular person related to the cyianid case. The investigative agency does not make comments on this issue.
