A rally in support of Azerbaijani journalist, Afgan Mukhtar was held in Batumi in the morning. The rally participants protested against journalist`s kidnapping. According to the participants of the rally, the rights of any human being should be protected in Georgia, especially if Mukhtar had an ID card issued in Georgia.

"This is a violation of both internal and international law, first of all, the damage to dignity of the Georgian state and the dignity of its citizens, because we, as citizens of this country, which could not protect the dissident`s right are shocked and ashamed that the Georgian government did so" - said the coordinator of the regional offices of non-governmental organization Transparency International, Malkhaz Chkadua..

Media and non-governmental organizations, together with the public, express solidarity with Afgan Mukhtar and ask the i authorities to investigate how the disappeared journalist in Georgia was detained in Baku.
