Azerbaijani journalist, Afgan Mukhtarl`s lawyer, Archil Chopikashvili and his wife Leila Mustafeva, arrived in the police to find out the security measures offered to the family.

The family attorney applied the investigative agency with the request to transfer the case to the Chief Prosecutor`s Office today.

He noted that the case should have been transferred to the Prosecutor"s Office even without an official statement.

"The fact that the police is still investigating this case, implicitly means that the version on involvement of police officers in this case is not considered , which is inadmissible," - Chopikashvili said.

Non-governmental organizations are also requesting the prosecution to investigate the case.
