Protest in Parliament - journalists attended session with plastic bags on their heads

Human Rights Committee Meeting is being held in Parliament at this moment. Journalists are attending the meeting, who are protesting against the fact of alleged abduction of their Azerbaijani colleague from Georgia.

The journalists were sitting at the committee with sacks on their heads and with pictures of Afgan Mukhtarli in their hands. They used a silent form of protest.

According to the journalists, the reason for the protest was ignorance of their demands by the ruling party leaders.

Media representatives talk about delaying of the investigation of Afgan Mukhtarli case.
"Our concernis caused by their attitude.. Parliament Speaker`s and Sophio Kiladze also ignore the fact and we believe that this fact is so sereious that it can not be ignored like trhat. Because we actually declare that after this fact nobody`s security, and not only journalists` , is protected , "- said Nina Biganishvili.

The opposition demands a quick and timely investigation of the case of the Azerbaijani journalist. The parliamentary minority is interested in the timing of the completion of the case investigation.
