According to the amendments to the election code, the rule of composition of election commissions is changing.

According to the initiative, which belongs to 15 MPs of the parliamentary majority, the election commissions will include only those parties that pass the threshold, or those parties that will form the faction in the parliament.

"We are starting discussions of these topics, accordingly all public discussions are open. I call on those who have some remarks to take active part in these discussions, so that nobody says post factum that they were not aware of this fact, "- said Levan Gogichaishvili.

According to the current rule, qualified political parties, who remain behind the election barrier, but receive some funding from the state have one representative in the commission.

According to the opposition, the ruling party is adjusting the rules of composition of election commissions to their interests.

"Every subsequent change that comes from the Georgian Dream is an attempt to adjust to their interests the legislation and get totally inadequate advantages. They had one member and now they will have 4. This indicates that they will decide on any issue, "- said Sergo Ratiani, a member of the European Georgia.

The civil sector also protests against the amendment to the election code. According to NGO members, the amendment is tailored to one particular party, the ruling team.

According to them, in case of adoption of the amendments, the Georgian Dream will have the opportunity to fill in the administration with its representatives.
