The UN Ambassador to Georgia calls on the authorities to conduct the investigation objectively and transparently regarding the kidnapping of Azeri journalist.

According to Niels Scott, freedom of journalists in a democratic society is of utmost importance.

"This case must be investigated fairly. We need to have an explanation on how the journalist appeared on the other side of the border. But the most important is transparency of investigation,"- Neils investigation is transparency. Every case that deals with media and freedom of speech always brings great interest. We need to make sure that such an incident will not happen again and the investigation is in line with the standards of European democracy, "said Niels Scott.
