Electoral system should be based on consensus - NGOs speak about necessity of taking into consideration Venice Commission recommendations


Civil sector is talking about the importance of considering the recommendations presented by the Venice Commission regarding constitutional amendments.

According to NGOs, the initial comments of the Venice Commission, including undistributed mandates, the abolition of the blocks and the high barrier, coincide with their opinions.

The civil sector plans to involve the issue in parliamentary hearings.

"It is important for the electoral system first of all to be based on consensus between the subjects involved in the electoral process and the second is the proportional distribution of undistributed mandates," -said Lela Taliuri, the representative of GYLA.


The process of reviewing constitutional amendments will begin after the publication of the recommendations of the Venice Commission .
