Debates in Parliament - Opposition opposes abolition of seven self-governing cities

Debates during discussion of the self-governance code. The parliamentary opposition opposes the package of the draft laws, which envisages unification of seven self-governing cities.


The opposition claims that Georgian Dream changes the self-governance code in order to create a comfortable environment before elections.

" Trademark of your government is bonuses. When you were not able to get bonuses, you changed name and called it " adjunctions". You try your best to appropriate money from the budget. Therefore the argument, that you want to reduce costs is really funny,"- said Irma Nadirashvili, member of the faction : European Georgia- Movement for Freedom.

A Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, member of the Georgian Patriots Irma Inashvili does not exclude that the ruling party may appeal with an initiative to return status of self-governing cities to this towns next year.
