GYLA Urges Prosecutor"s Office to Investigate Facts of alleged Violence by Police Officers at Rose Square

"The Prosecutor"s Office should conduct the case," -Revaz Adjaradze, a lawyer of the Georgian Young Lawyers` Association, raises the fact of physical violence carried out on a 20-year-old woman on Rose Square, 20-year-old girl blames police in physical violence.

Revaz Acharadze noted that the Prosecutor`s Office should launch an investigation into this case because it might reveal the guilt of law enforcers.

"The investigation must be conducted by the Prosecutor"s Office, as it is possible that the offense was committed by the police officers and that in order to avoid the possibility of bias and the lack of objectivity, the case should be investigated by the Prosecutor`s Office," said Revaz Adjaradze.

GYLA lawyer says that a 20-year-old woman has multiple bruises and a concussion of the brain.

Before leaving the medical institution, representatives of the Public Defender visited a 20-year-old girl and began studying her case.

Today the Ministry of Internal Affairs disseminated the video provided by one of the citizens, where the fight between the citizens occurred on Rose Square. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs,when the law enforcers came to the site, the girlwas drunk and already had injuries on the body. The woman detained for petty hooliganism told the lawyer that the law enforcers had inflicted injuries on her body.
