The civil sector demands broad consideration of the legislative amendments to the law on the Public Broadcaster. The NGOs have issued a joint statement.
The document released by the third Sector indicates that "planned amendments will significantly worsen the accountability and transparency standards of the Public Broadcaster, increase the power of the management of the Public Broadcaster, weaken the Board of Trustees, increase the risk of corruption and reduce the security mechanisms employed by the broadcaster."
The joint statement also emphasizes that the Public Broadcaster will lose its first mission and become a commercial television free from public control.
"We believe that the planned legislative amendments are part of the process ongoing on the GPB . The signatory organizations will endeavor to initiate the draft law in the Parliament and create a broad working group to discuss changes in the draft law, "-
the statement reads.
