The European Commissioner Johannes Hahn made a statement on the case of Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarly on Summit of European People"s Party. He states that is going to wait for investigation and underlines that he does not want to speculate with this issue.

"This issue was raised during my negotiations with President Aliyev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. I very appreciate that I had opportunity to talk to the Georgian Foreign Minister on Monday that the is investigation on the case. And we have to wait for the outcome But I expect investigation that will not be superficial but substantial and then we have to see what is the outcome. I don’t want to speculate but now it is on Georgian side,"- said Johannes Hahn.
