The Tbilisi City Court resumed the hearings on the so-called questioning of witnesses. Former members of the personal protection of the former president stated that the secret purchase was carried out on the basis of the president`s decree.
The prosecutor, Ketevan Chachava, said that the expenditure were made secret only due to the fact that the information about the embezzlement was not publicized.
Attorney Beka Basilaia notes that the testimony of the witness who was interrogated at the trial reveals that after the change of the government the Special State Protection Service identifically handled the finances.
"The witness who was interrogated today confirmed that after Bidzina Ivanishvili became Prime Minister of Georgia and since Anzor Chubinidze became the head of the Special State Protection Service, the Special State Protection Service was carrying out identical expenses," -Beka Basilaia said.
Two witnesses of the Prosecutor`s Office have been questioned at today"s trial. The session will be renewed again on July 7 and the witnesses of the prosecution will be interrogated.
