115 supporters, nobody against , onstitutional amendments habe beenadopted in the second hearing. The voting process, like in the first hearing, went on without the participation of the opposition and the changes were considered only by one party.

After the constitutional amendments are approved in the second reading, significant amendments cannot be made to the project. The ruling team has made some changes to the draft .

 According to the amendments, next year the president will be elected directly. However, the president will be elected for a term of six years, as the chairperson of the parliament says the president will be elected indirectly in 2024.

 According to the new Constitution, the country will move fto proportional system
in 2024, and the next mixed system parliamentary elections will be held in 2020, but at this stage parties will have to overcome a 3 percent threshold.

 The need to have referendum on the increase of taxes will be changed in 12 years. From 2029 the increase of taxes will need no referendum.

 This project of constitutional amendments was the reason for acute controversy between President and Irakli Kobakhidze.

The new edition of the Constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara was also voted in the second hearing.
