Fishermen’s in Poti state that fishing is the only source of income they have as restrictions regarding fishing on Lake Paliastomi is being protested . According to them the amendments will leave them with no source of income.

Lake Paliastomi is a part of the Kolkheti Protected Area and fishing is regulated according to law. Fishermen are demanding change of legislation. Representatives of local government met with them today. The fishermen to to settle the issue in the shortest possible time, otherwise they are going to demonstrate.
