Non-governmental organizations have published the contents of the open letter sent to the High Representative of the European Union, the European Commissioner, the European Parliament and the US Department of State. The letter speaks about the removal of proportional electoral system in Georgia and the work of the Constitutional Commission.
The letter will be sent to 750 influential politicians. The text focuses on ineffective work of the Constitutional Commission.
Eka Gigauri, the Executive Director of "Transparency International Georgia", criticizes the ruling team for trying to prolong their term in power.
"The decision , according to which the proportional system is postponed, is directly related to the fact that the ruling party wants to maintain power as long as possible and this is a big problem for our country," Eka Gigauri said.
Ana Natsvlishvili, the chairperson of the Georgian Young Lawyers Association criticizes Georgian Dream and points out that the ruling team has rejected the views of the groups involved in the development of the constitution.
