After the meeting with the president of the Venice Commission, NGOs are initiating to moderate between the authorities and the opposition and engage in consultations to achieve consensus.

As NGO representatives and Gianni Buquicchio think that the main drawback of the new constitution is maintenance of a majoritarian system until 2024.

"Of course, it is problematic that the electoral system will be postponed for 7 years. In fact we are talking about postponement of democratic process for 7 years ,"- said Eka Gigauri, the executive director of International Transparency - Georgia.

Representatives of the civil sector claim that the constitution should be returned to the parliament and should be discussed. According to them, if the consensus will not be achieved , the legitimation of the constitution will be questioned.
