Heads of State Security Service and Border Police have temporary left their positions due to Afgan Mukhtarli"s case. A Minister of Internal Affairs made a statement a few minutes ago.
"We had a communication with State Security Agency officials, due to the fact that the case relates to the high public interest and our attitude to such cases determines our agency"s reputation, it is very important not to leave questions for the investigation on the efficient border control, counter-intelligence activities Therefore, after consultations with the above-mentioned agencies we have made a joint decision and the heads of the relevant departments , which are directly responsible on the one hand, for the state border control, on the other hand, for counter-intelligence activities, t will lea we their posts till the investigation is completed., "- said George Mgebrishvili.
The decision was made in regard to the kidnapping of the Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarly.
