Hidden Property and Declarations filled in by Officials - Public Service Bureau has published the results of the Monitoring of Declarations filled in 2017. It turned out that 80 percent of the declarations are inconsistent.

Due to the inconsistencies found in the declaration of seven persons, the law enforcement agencies may need to react. After the discrepancies were found in completed declarations, the Civil Service Bureau sent the relevant materials to the investigative agencies.

287 Declarations have been studied, among them are MPs, as well as judges and heads of local self-government bodies.

Eka Gigauri, executive director of the NGO "Transparency International - Georgia" commented on this issue.

"Specific people hide their property due to the fact that this property could not have been obtained through a legitimate way. Here in this case we are dealing with other types of crimes and it is obvious that these facts should be investigated, "Eka Gigauri said.
