Public Defender met with the wife of Mustafa Emre Chabuk and his lawyer. The family of the detainee addressed Nino Lomjaria with the request to be maximally involved in the process and not to extradite the detainee to Turkey.

The Public Defende speaks of possible threats in case of Chabuk"s extradition.

"It is very important for us not to be subjected a person to extradition to a country where with a very high likelihood he could be the victim of inhuman and ill-treatment. We do not have any guarantees that his case will be subject to fair principles of fair trial. This is an international obligation of Georgia not to extradite a person into a country where he can become a victim of political persecution, "said Nino Lomjaria.
