NATO PA the 97th Rose-Roth Seminar is underway in Batumi. The Chairman of the Parliament addressed the participants of the seminar. Irakli Kobakhidze spoke about Russian occupation and human rights in the occupied regions.

He said that Russia"s revanchist foreign policy is a major challenge for the region"s security.

"First of all, I would like to state that the parliament adopted a resolution in December 2016, which clearly emphasized that Euro-Atlantic integration is the main priority of Georgia"s foreign policy.

We believe that Russia"s revanchist foreign policy is a major challenge for regional security. Russia"s actions in the region, especially in the last decade, have led to such strong shifts that seriously undermined the credibility of international systems and even threatened the architecture of European security.

Even now, when we have gathered in this hall and talking about it, Moscow intensively increases military resources on the occupied territories, along with the region.

The human rights situation in Georgia"s occupied territories is quite difficult. While the creeping and sharp annexation of the sovereign states clearly expresses Russian aggression every day, "said Irakli Kobakhidze.

 Defense Minister also addressed the Assembly"s participants.
