The leader of the "National Movement" responds to the developments in Armenia. Mikheil Saakashvili says that this is a revolt against Russia and the Russian influence in the region is weakening.
"What happened in Armenia is a very important historic event. This is the revolt against Russia in the first place. I have relations with many Armenians and they have been fed up with Russia and for me it is a manifestation that the will of the people is always the most important. That people will defeat all oligarchy. People will defeat all the lies and people will always win. This is a very black day for Vladimir Putin because the West has threatened and sponsored sanctions against him, hit his oligarchs and now are virtually narrowing the scope of his influence, "- Mikheil Saakashvili said.
According to him, Russia"s weakness and the events that are happening in Armenia now have great importance for Georgia.
"In 2012, we paid attention to the fact that the Russian influence was strengthened and the West was weakened in our region. Now everything goes on the opposite. The West returns. No propaganda can stop the sovereign right of people to live a normal life, "- Mikheil Saakashvili said,
