Bidzina Ivanishvili, the chairperson of the "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" talked about the economic situation in the country during the party congress.
Economic problems were the only non-political topic about which Ivanishvili spoke today. He called on the population to be patient because, as he said, there was no government that would reach a 600-percent economic growth.
Bidzina Ivanishvili talked about the main reasons why people lived in hardship.
"I know thoroughly well what difficulties the ordinary citizens have today. We still could not get rid of the economic hardship in which we found ourselves at the dawn of the development of independence, including the bloody cataclysms, " - Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
According to Bidzina Ivanishvili, economic development in the country is less than democracy level, which creates political problems.
"I have said before and I repeat that today, political problems in Georgia are very important for us, on the one hand we have almost European level of democracy, which is far behind the level of economic development. Such disproportions between democracy and economics are so unique that it is difficult to find any other country where there is a similar situation, "- Ivanishvili said.
Members of the parliamentary majority say that in terms of economic development, the situation in the country is improving, however, it is acknowledged that all families have not felt the benefits of the reforms carried out.
