War of August 2008 - Georgian side holds consultations a day before the Strasbourg ruling

One day before the historic decision - the European Court will hold the last oral hearing in regard to the August war on 2008.

Georgian government officials and diplomats are holding a special meeting where they discuss evidence, that confirms a violation of the articles of the European Convention during the August war.

The Georgian state has two British lawyers who will deliver a speech at the European Court tomorrow.

The Georgian side, as lawyers claim, has submitted more than 700 evidence to the Strasbourg Court.

Beka Dzamashvili, a representative of the Ministry of Justice, says that one of the main evidence is the fact of the use of ballistic weapons in Gori by the Russian side.

"This is happening in the period when the Georgian side has already suspended military perations unilaterally, so the evidence is quite strong," said Beka Dzamashvili, head of the International Courts Department of the Ministry of Justice.

The hearing will begin at 11:00 tomorrow.

The decision will not be announced tomorrow. Reportedly the Grand Chamber may voice a final decision till the end of the year.
