"We have to take all diplomatic efforts and the recognition of Syria should not be followed by the similar steps from other countries,"- Salome Samadashvili, Deputy Chairperson of the parliamentary faction " United National Movement" has made a statement while assessing the recognition of the occupied territories by Syria.

Salome Samadashvili states that after the annexation of the Georgian territories Russia has not paid a proper political price and the continuation of this is the recognition of the independence of Abkhazia and occupied Tskhinvali by Syria.

"All the steps taken by Russia in terms of occupation and annexation of our territories have been unpunished," said Samadashvili.

Salome Samadashvili also criticized the government for lack of strict positions and said that the government should intensify diplomatic relations with the aim of preventing other countries in the region from taking similar steps .
