Following a decision on the break-up of diplomatic relations with Syria, the opposition speaks about the necessity to take sanctions against Damascus including blocking of specific cargoes for Damascus. Opposition representatives are summoning the Foreign Minister to discuss details, but expectations are pessimistic.

The National Movement criticizes the country"s foreign ministry and say that the ministry should have worked efficiently to avoid the result.

"We should immediately start active consultations with our partner and friend states in the EU and the United States so that this fact will not be repeated and any other state will not apply the same policy ," - Zaal Udumashvili said.

"European Georgia" explains that the Foreign Minister"s visit to the legislative body is necessary because the Parliament should know what situation is in terms of non-recognition. They also talk about additional sanctions.

"Actually should be considered other types of sanctions, such as forbidding military cargo to Syria through our territories," said Sergi Kapanadze.

In the majority, they say that they are ready to take all the steps that will serve the well-being of the country.

"The Syrian regime"s recognition of de facto regimes is the proof that Russia cooperates with this kind of regimes," said Sophio Kiladze.
