Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia criticizes NGOs through social network and says that demand in regard to Tsulukiani"s resignation is absurd.
"We have repeatedly said and I reiterate once again with full responsibility that I will ensure a broad public involvement in the process of selection of the Chief Prosecutor, which means that representatives of the society, academic circles and NGOs will participate in this process. The Ministry of Justice has already started procedures in accordance with the law.
It is unacceptable that a part of the NGOs speaks in the language of ultimatums and tries to cast doubt regarding this process. their statements make it clear that they are trying to politicize the issue, which is totally unacceptable. Therefore, I urge them not to go beyond the mandate of their activities and show more responsibility .
As for the request of dismissal of Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani, this is absolutely absurd and lacks reasonable grounds," - writes the Prime Minister.
