Prime Minister met with the head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia

Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met Eric Hogg, the head of the EUMM c in Georgia.

They have focused on the importance of the EUMM as the only international mechanism on the ground to ensure peace and stability. The Prime Minister thanked the head of the mission. The head of the government also welcomed an extension of the mission mandate until 2020.

The sides discussed the difficult situation in terms of security, humanitarian and human rights in the occupied regions of Georgia and the new peace initiative of the Government of Georgia - "Step for a Future" aimed at restoring confidence among societies affected by conflict.
