"Georgian Dream" will not present a candidate in presidential election

Georgian Dream will not present presidential candidate in presidential elections.

Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze made this statement.

According to Kobakhidze, the president should be independent and non partzan .

He said that the ruling party may support independent, non-partisan candidates. According to Kobakhidze, the position of the ruling team will be known later.

"Although we have no candidate who can win a convincing victory in the first round, the Georgian Dream refuses to nominate its candidate in the presidential election.

"Moreover, we recognize our responsibility as a ruling party before the Georgian society, including the absolute majority of the electorate who supported our party, the Georgian Dream in the last general election."
