"Russia should take effective steps to fulfil the international commitments," the statement was made by the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze during the roundtable meeting. Mamuka Bakhtadze spoke about the August war and Russian aggression.
According to the Prime Minister, Georgia should respond to Russian aggression with sustainable development and the Euro-Atlantic course should not be changed.
"If the Russian government understands the long-term interest of the Russian people and the state in relation to peace and stability in the neighbourhood and wants good, neighbourly relations, cooperation based on the mutual respect with Georgia. They should take an effective step to fulfil the international commitments. Our answer to this challenge and the occupation of the country is the peace and development of the country, the establishment of strong state institutions, the development of economy, our irreversible integration in European and Euro-Atlantic structures and this is the only peaceful and uncontested offer for our Abkhaz and Ossetian citizens to build strong and European Georgia, "- said the Prime Minister.
