The European Parliament asks the Georgian government to reform the Security Service.

The document was published on the European Parliament"s website. Brussels calls on Tbilisi to allocate The Anti-Corruption Services from the State Security Service.

According to them, there is a big risk that the Security Service will use unlimited power for repressive policies.

"The European Parliament urges the Georgian authorities to put in place an effective mechanism for investigating cases of abuse by law enforcement officials;
Welcomes the progress of the judicial reform; calls for more transparency of the judicial system and for further improvements to its independence notes satisfaction with the outcome of fighting against corruption in Georgia." - reads the statement.
