A 26-page conclusion on the activity of the Ministry of Economy was published by the State Auditors after several months of inspection. State controllers were studying the period of Giorgi Gakharia and Dimitri Kumsishvili .

As a result of the audit it has been established that the funds allocated for the project "Produce in Georgia" are not controlled in detail and the Ministry does not inspect itself what hundreds of thousands of GEL are spent on.

The Ministry of Economy has hired 4 companies to find out whether they are financed from the "Produce in Georgia" project. The Ministry of Economics paid half a million GEL for each mediator company.

The auditors write that in the main case the companies did not fulfill their obligations and it was unknown what the beneficiaries of "Produce in Georgia" project spent money from the budget on . The auditors have determined that it is unclear what the 300 thousand GEL were spent on.

In the acute conclusion auditors indicate the shortcomings of the project, which, according to the government, should play a significant role in the development of the country"s economy. However, it turned out that no one has controled who, why and how spend the budget.

Stop Corruption spoke of the risk of corruption of the project several months ago.

Keti Enukidze, the researcher of the organization, has long studied the project activities and says it does not serve real purpose.
