The meeting of the high priests in the Patriarchate has ended. Today, within three hours, the Holy Synod"s powerful clergymen were gathered in the Patriarchate. The high clergy did not say what was going on at the closed meeting , but the members of the Holy Synod slammed the Georgian Dream"s presidential candidate Salome Zurabishvili again from the Patriarchy.

Zurabishvili"s threat to the Church is unacceptable for the high priests and the announcement that after her election as president she will put the spiritual persons into the frames.

"If we have become high priests it does not mean that we are not citizens of this country.
I do not know why she has such thinking, who is responsible for the parish? Is not it the church? Where do these conclusions come from?

Obviously, the fact is that she has difficulty in thinking, "says Archbishop Anthon.

When asked whether or not Salome Zurabishvili voiced the position of the Georgian government, Anthon said:

"Salome and the government"s position - somewhere Salome always takes the step to appease the government".

The presidential candidate of "Georgian Dream" yesterday opposed the church openly and accused the high priests of violating Concordat.
