Situation prior to second round of elections - United Opposition meets international observers and organizations

Members of the United Opposition are meeting with NGOs and international observers. They will exchange information about the situationprior to the second round of the presidential election.

The opposition intends to focus on the incident in Akhalkalaki when the representatives of the United Opposition"s headquarters were attacked and physically assaulted.

Investigation has been launched against into several persons under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The opponents of the government say that this is a loyal attitude from the investigative agencies and they are demanding to requalify the article.

"What happened in Akhalkalaki is the whole complex of crimes, the creation of an illegal armed formation, a premeditated attack on a man and inflicting injury to health, "Giorgi Baramidze, a member of the National Movement said.

Representatives of NGOs respond to the incident in Akhalkalaki and evaluate it as a serious fact. In addition, the civil sector speaks about the use of administrative resources by the government.
