Demand for disclosing source - according to NGOs, the Prosecutor"s Office has launched a repressive system

Prosecutor"s Office asks civil sector representatives to name the supplier of information about the printing of fake IDs.The NGO members have been questioning n the main investigative agency for the third time already.

The Georgian Civil Sector responded with a joint statement to pressure on three influential NGOs. Sixteen organizations believes that the Prosecutor"s Office has launched repressive instruments against whistleblowing system aimed at intimidating NGOs informers.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations say that after the adoption of the Law on Freedom of Speech and Expression in 2004, there has not been any case of requesting to disclose a source of information from the state agency.

The ruling team is waiting for the completion of the investigation. They do not question the legitimacy of the second round of the presidential election.
