The "capture of the state" - the third sector responds to TBC Bank case

The third sector demands explanations on TBC Bank case. Non-governmental organizations openly point out to questions about the pressure on business and the political revenge.
Representatives of NGOs demanded substantiated answers. They do not agree with the government"s assessment of the fact that it is only legal and they should not seek political motives in the fight against Mamuka Khazaradze.
NGOs see certain political motivations in the processes developed around TBC Bank.
"This is another manifestation of the so-called "state capture". We have doubts about the process since it started after Mr Ivanishvili came out and criticized Khazaradze . After that the activities started with various state agencies against TBC Bank, "said Giorgi Oniani, deputy executive director of Transparency International Georgia.
The third sector believes that TBC Bank will suffer losses due to the attack which may also reduce investors" interest towards the country.
"What is the reason why this case has been activated and why it has never been a subject of serious consideration. All this might indicate a selective process and some political or other personal interests that may be obvious in this case. So on the one hand, naturally, questions arise. On the other hand, there may be additional problems in attracting investors, "said Mikhail Benidze, executive director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy.
The National Bank demanded to suspend signatory authority of TBC Bank founders - Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. TBC Bank appeals the NBG"s decision
