The agreement reached between Georgia and Azerbaijan regarding David Gareji has been followed by political assessments.

According to Giga Bokeria, one of the leaders of "European Georgia", to present it as a great patriotic case is cynicism.

As he said, the situation created on the territory of Gareji is a result of the Soviet occupation and it is not the fault of either Georgia or Azerbaijan.

"It is normal that the status quo that was hitherto needed to be restored so that tourists, pilgrims, clergy can move freely on the territory before the deal is made.
To present this as a great patriotic act from Gakharia or Ivanishvili’s another puppet, is cynicism. We all remember, how the problem appeared. We also remember that the problem was exacerbated by the groups that are close to the Government”, said Bokeria.
