The State Minister hosted the event dedicated to the Abkhaz Language Day. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili spoke about the uniqueness of the this language and noted that due to the situation on the occupied territory it needs special maintenance and development.
As Tsikhelashvili said, Abkhaz language is the second state language of Georgia and it is protected by the Constitution. According to the State Minister, Georgia has a special obligation to protect the Abkhaz language similar to the Georgian language.
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili said that in the context of the process of Russification on the occupied territory, it is even clearer that we need to take special measures.
