On the Metechi Bridge in Tbilisi the Hundred Thousand Martyrs day will be celebrated

The Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates the Hundred Thousand Martyrs day.

The procession of the surnames representatives and students is planned. They will gather near the Metekhi Bridge.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II will pay a solemn liturgy together with priests and clergy.

The Hundred Thousand Martyrs are saints of the Georgian Orthodox Church who were tortured to death by the Khwarezmid Sultan Jalal ad-Din in 1227 because they refused to renounce Christianity and step on holy icons of God. The Georgian Church commemorates the martyrs on 13 November.
