The Hundred Thousand Martyrs are saints of the Georgian Orthodox Church who were tortured to death by the Khwarezmid Sultan Jalal ad-Din in 1227 because they refused to renounce Christianity and step on holy icons of God. The Georgian Church commemorates the martyrs on 13 November.
