Amiran Gamkrelidze once again calls on the citizens to follow the recommendations issued by the Ministry of Health, to observe social distancing advice, to wear a face mask and to clean hands with sanitizer.

“The health care system handles daily numbers of COVID-19 pretty effectively, but we do not want these cases to go into the hundreds. In a bid to avoid this, we must follow recommendations.

We often say this is not a reason to panic, but it is very noteworthy, as, unfortunately, our population, especially during the summer, became inattentive.

We have created an illusion as if we beat the virus, but we did not. It is impossible for a single country to defeat the pandemic as this is a global challenge and the whole world will solve it together. It will take at least a year, or one year and a half”, - said the Head of NCDC.
