One of the streets in Kutaisi will be named after Shindisi Heroes

Moscow Street in Kutaisi got renamed and from today will be called Shindisi Heroes Street.

Such decision was made by the Kutaisi City Hall on the 100th anniversary of the Soviet occupation.

The battle of Shindisi took place on August 11, 2008. 17 Georgian soldiers of the engineering subdivision of the 2nd Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces were killed in an unequal clash with the Russian military.
