In February 2021, compared to the January, the inflation rate in Georgia was 1.1%, and the annual inflation rate amounted to 3.6%.
According to GeoStat, this figure was 6.6% in February 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, and the annual core inflation rate without tobacco amounted to 6.3%.
The monthly inflation rate was mainly influenced by the change in prices for the following groups:
In the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, prices increased by 1.1%.
Prices increased for the following subgroups: sugar, jam and other sweets (5.4%), oil and fat (4.9%), fruits and grapes (2.6%), mineral and spring water, soft drinks and natural juices (2.3%), vegetables and horticulture (1.9%), bread and bakery products (1.5%).
At the same time, prices fell for the subgroup of milk, cheese and eggs (-2.7%).
