A group of experts from UNESCO will start working today to diagnose damage to the wall painting and roof defects in Gelati.

The experts and architects-restorers will study the situation created due to the shortcomings during the roofing works carried out according to the project in Gelati main temple in 2008 for a week and will issue relevant recommendations.

Experts will also examine the damaged parts of the wall painting, after which an action plan will be drawn up to repair the damage.
