If 80% of teachers and administrative staff are vaccinated, it is possible to start in-class studying, said today the Head of the National Center for Disease Control.
“According to our data, 30% of school teachers have been vaccinated. However, the Ministry of Education has conducted a survey and says that this figure is up to 40%. Our data is from two weeks ago and it is good that it is 40%.
We would call schools safe if 80% of the teachers and administrative staff who work in the school and have contact with children would be vaccinated. So, of course, where there will be 80% vaccinated it will possible to do it, we should even encourage them to start in-class studies”, - said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
He added that if the situation is the same as today, of course, the NCDC can’t give the recommendation to start studying.
