Prosecutor"s Office launches investigation into media reports relating to secret recordings

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has launched an investigation into the information spread by the media regarding the secret recordings.

“The investigation launched under the Article 158, Parts 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

We urge all those with whom illegal recordings and materials may be kept to cooperate with the investigation. In addition, we urge all media outlets that have such material to cooperate with the investigation this time, provide us with the evidence at their disposal and refrain from releasing private and personal information”, - reads the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office.
