Lawyer Nika Gvaramia addressed the prosecutors with insulting words, about which an investigation was launched. Such a statement was released today by the Prosecutor’s Office.
“He addressed prosecutors with insulting words, which was ignored by the court and other participants in the trial at that moment, however, the Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation today based on video footage taken during Mikheil Saakashvili’s trial.
The Prosecutor’s Office will apply to the court at the next hearing and demand that Nika Gvaramia be expelled from the courtroom. The agency has already addressed the Ethics Commission of the LEPL Georgian Bar Association, requesting that they subject Nika Gvaramia"s action to legal evaluation.
The investigation into the fact of insulting a participant in the proceedings was launched on the grounds of a crime under the first part of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Georgia”, - reads the statement.
