Mtavari Arkhi releases a statement regarding Lasha Nakaidze. According to the channel, it had suspended the contract with its host after the journalist was detained on charges of domestic violence, attempted rape and threats following an incident.

The channel administration said it distanced itself “from any type of violence, especially those perpetrated by a man on a woman, which is not justified under any circumstances”. As Mtavari Arkhi says, it could “reconsider its position over Lasha Nakaidze if the latter was found innocent by the court”.

Mtavari Arkhi said that its another employee notified the police about the incident on Monday, August 15. Lasha Nakaidze was arrested yesterday.
